Lord of the Rings Tour - Paradise Safari
A half or full day scenic safari featuring stunning locations from 'The Lord of the Rings' and other movies filmed in the Lake Wakatipu region, Glenorchy and the Paradise Valley. Get within touching distance of Middle Earth! Our guides will make you feel like you were there. Not a movie buff? The scenery alone will bowl you over. Enjoy short walks, snow capped mountains, lakes, native flora and fauna, entertaining commentary and a stop in rural Glenorchy for a complimentary hot drink. Scenes covered in the half-day tour include Lothlorien Forest, Isengaard, Misty Mountains, Amon Hen and views towards Dunharrow. The full-day tour includes a gourmet lunch at a local winery, and a trip to historic Arrowtown where they filmed Gladden Fields and other LOTR scenes. Nomad Safaris Quad Biking
The ride with the view! Join Nomad Safaris on a personalised Quad Bike tour exploring the trails on Queenstown Hill, and encounter stunning panoramic views over Queenstown and Lake Wakatipu. The 400cc Honda ATV Quads are fully automatic so you don't have to worry about changing gears, and a short training course at the start will ensure that you get the most out of your quad biking experience! Queenstown Guided Walks
Wilderness Guided walks provide stunning half- and full-day guided walks around the beautiful Queenstown and Glenorchy areas. Ranging from easy to moderate grade, and from 2.5hrs to 7hrs walking time, there is a guided walk to suit you!
Routeburn Trail - Full Day
The Routeburn Trail full-day hike offers seven hours of walking on the world-famous Routeburn Track, during which the guides aim to take the group as far as the Routeburn Falls hut and back, covering a total distance of 18km. The track is graded 'moderate' by the Department of Conservation, and rises from 1850ft above sea level at the Routeburn Shelter to a height of approximately 3250ft at the Routeburn Falls hut. A gormet picnic lunch, trail mix snacks, and bottled water are provided, along with use of a rain jacket, day pack and walking poles if required. Departs at 8am; allow 10hrs return to Queenstown. Historic Lakeview Trail - Half Day
The Historic Lakeview Trail is a half-day guided walk of a moderate grade. The loop track passes through the Mt Crichton scenic reserve, an area rich in goldmining history. This guided walk includes a visit to an intact gold mining hut - former residence of Sam Summers who prospected in the area during the gold rush - now utilised by hikers, hunters, fishermen, or keen gold panners who want to spend a night or two on the reserve. Trail mix snacks and bottled water is provided, and a rain jacket, day pack and walking poles can also be provided if required. Departs at 8am or 1.30pm; allow 3.5hrs return to Queenstown. Book now!
